Desert Star Dance is committed to reducing our impact on the environment. We have several programs that help us to do that.
- We have recycling containers all around the studio. Even though the town of Gilbert unfortunately does not collect recycling at businesses, we take the recycling to a recycling center.
- Whenever possible, we ask that your child bring a reusable water container to class. This reduces the number of plastic water bottles we use. Water is available in our vending machine but we encourage students to bring a water container that is reusable.
- We use email as our main form of communication. We use as little paper as possible when imparting information to you. When we do use paper, we use recycled paper whenever possible.
- We encourage carpooling and help parents connect to share rides to dance class.
- We are starting a “shoe exchange” to help recycle dance shoes that are grown out of before wearing out! This saves money too!
- We also ask our students to make the dance rooms a “mobile device free zone”. No ipods, phones, Nintendo, etc. This way there are no distractions when taking dance class.
